Demonstrating progress in their recently announced collaboration, ST and MicroVision brought Laser Beam Scanning (LBS) 
technology to CES2017. The incredible technology, potentially used in Heads-Up Displays (HuD), could soon find its way to your next car.
Using MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems)-based mirrors and a scanning laser, the projection engine produces a stunning 85 lumens with 1920×720 resolution and an 80k:1 contrast ratio at low-power and -cost. While very well suited to the automotive sector, might it someday be embedded in a pair of glasses?
