Let the show begin
As announced in our last three pre-event blog articles, yesterday saw the opening of the STM32 Summit event in Shenzhen.
With great surprise for all the guests, the event opened with an extraordinary performance of AI dancing shoes.
In fact, one of the main demos at the STM32 Summit from a third party is Orphe Track, the first shoe log platform from Japan’s No New Folk Studio. Resting on the Orphe Core, a sensor module that uses ST components, the shoe can track the user’s movements with extreme precision and efficiency. The AI inside the Core learns from data generated from the user’s walking and running to give suggestions on how they can improve their efficiency. It also can record users’ daily patterns and health condition and link up with various fitness and insurance services.
During the first day, we welcomed our guests with address from ST executives: Jerome Roux (EVP, Head of Sales & Marketing) and Jean-Marc Chery (President & CEO). Their speech focused on the strong leadership and success that ST has reached in China thanks to the ecosystem built around our famous microcontroller, the STM32. We then opened the floor to demos from partners and ST, and various sub-track presentations.
Demonstrations Area
As already explained in the previous articles, ST’s demos focused on three main areas:
One of our critical demos at the STM32 Summit remains the presentation of STM32Cube.AI, a toolkit that can convert neural networks into an optimized code for STM32 MCUs. Launched at the beginning of the year, it continues to be the only tool of its kind with such a breadth of features.
Many engineers know us for our STSPIN motor drivers with great hits like the STSPIN820, the smallest 45 V / 256 micro steps motor driver that received awards from top Chinese media. The STM32 Summit gave us an excellent opportunity to show the solutions we built around these components, such as our Motor Control SDK, X-CUBE-MCSDK, which helps developers configure their firmware through a graphical user interface that dramatically simplifies their work.
One of the more popular demos for businesses is our Bluetooth mesh application running on our latest STM32WB, the STM32 MCU with a Bluetooth SoC that recently became available. Developers can even experience it for themselves thanks to the source code present in the STM32CubeWB firmware package that runs a demo application enabling the creation of a smart lighting system that relies on Bluetooth mesh. It is thus a great example of our comprehensive hardware-software approach.

We are also thrilled to mention our partners were showing our customers how our collaboration allows the industry to achieve a common goal, namely to create next-generation design that can meet business needs and even address societal challenges.
All the guests were enjoying the event and actively participating in sub-tracks and live demos. From this event, we can see how the STM32 ecosystem is flourishing in Asia and more specifically in China, to support developers and customers as they solve their technical and commercial challenges.
